The YOSAKOI Soran Festival, one of Sapporo’s most iconic summer traditions, returns for its 34th edition from June 4 to June 8, 2025. First held in 1992, the festival fuses Kochi Prefecture’s “Yosakoi Festival” with Hokkaido’s traditional folk song “Soran Bushi,” creating an electrifying dance style like no other. Throughout the city, dancers wielding wooden naruko clappers perform in vivid costumes, filling the streets with energy, rhythm, and excitement. Centered around Odori Park, the festival transforms Sapporo into a stage alive with passion and creativity.
