Sapporo Festival 2025
Sapporo Festival 2025, the annual grand festival of Hokkaido Shrine, will take place from June 14 to June 16. For three days, Sapporo comes alive with traditional rituals, vibrant processions, and the festive atmosphere of food stalls and entertainment. The highlight is the grand mikoshi parade on June 16, where over a thousand participants in historical costumes march through the city to the sounds of flutes and taiko drums. At Nakajima Park, rows of food stalls serve everything from classic festival treats to creative new flavors, creating a lively family-friendly atmosphere. Meanwhile, Hokkaido Shrine offers solemn dedication ceremonies that showcase centuries of tradition. As the city’s signature early summer festival, this event marks the beginning of Sapporo’s festive season with energy and color.
